The "M&M" Boys figured prominently in this Yankee rout of the Angels, with Roger Maris belting a grand slam in the 3rd and Mickey Mantle chasing starter Jerry Casale with a three-run shot in the 4th. Maris drove in the first Yankee run in the 1st inning with a single. Art Ditmar pitched 7-1/3 innings of 2-run ball for the Yankees, with Ted Kluszewski and Leon Wagner driving in both Halo runs.

Tom Brewer went the distance as the Red Sox scored three runs in the 3rd for their 6th win in 7 games. Frank Malzone's 2-run homer and Billy Harrell's single drove in the Sox runs, chasing Twins starter Chuck Stobbs. Minnesota's 4-game winning streak was snapped.

KCA 5-13-0 BAL 4-8-1 WP-Johnson (2-0) LP-Fisher (0-2)

Kansas City's bullpen withstood late rallies by the Orioles to hang on for a 5-4 victory at Memorial Stadium. The A's got three-hit efforts by Norm Siebern and Andy Carey and RBI's by 5 different players including starting and winning pitcher Ken Johnson, who struck out 7 and withstood Jim Gentile's 3-run homer in the 6th. Bill Kunkel took over for Johnson in the 8th and got out of Oriole quicksand with the bases loaded in the 8th and the tying run at 3rd in the 9th to save it for Johnson. Jack Fisher took the loss for the Orioles, relieved by Wilhelm.
