ABC: The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, Room 222, The Odd Couple, Love, American Style. TV game shows the week of April 2, 1973

I am rebooting my 1973 replay, but with a difference: I will start including some of the pop culture and sports items of the particular week or day, just as a frame of reference. I am including the more well-known celebrity game shows of that era from that week in question. Match Game did not premiere until June, so it will be included when we get to the June schedule of games. The game shows are, $10,000 Pyramid, Password and of course, Hollywood Squares. $10,000 Pyramid: Nancy Dussault and Nipsey Russell. Dussault was an actress/singer who at the time was on "The New Dick Van Dyke Show" and would later become the inaugural co-hostess of Good Morning America and Ted Knight's wife on Too Close for Comfort. Russell was a beloved comedian who graced many a game show and because of his rhyming style, got the much-deserved title of "The Poet-Laureate of Comedy" from Pyramid host Dick Clark. To my fellow fantasy baseball leaguers out there...

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!! (Or, how to get stabbed in the back) I'm not going to say how old I am, except to say, it's the "Paul McCartney" birthday. I would be otherwise overjoyed if I were expecting presents or a cake, but at this age, you take what you can get and just be happy those days are well-remembered. Which brings me to the "Or" part of this blog, so save your applause until the very end. I forget how many years I have played fantasy sports, I have had titles, some also-ran teams, but no matter what, it is the fun of the game that wins out over the titles and the also-rans. But there is also the part when you are the Commish and have to deal with some "people" out there, people who think they know what they're doing and wield their authority by making chronic trade requests, usually for your best player who you do not want to give up. This person becomes a pain in the "y-k-w" and makes your blood boil to the point of... That p...
