What's on TV, 4/6/73
ABC: The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, Room 222, The Odd Couple, Love, American Style.
The Brady episode opens with Greg being rescued from that surfing wipeout in Hawaii, which was a direct result of a Hawaiian idol curse, a curse which would then affect another member of the "Bunch." btw, anyone seen Jan?
CBS: Mission: IMPOSSIBLE, The CBS Friday Night Movie.
That night's movie starred George Segal and Ursula Andress in a Jules Verne tale about African jewel thieves and one jewel in particular called "The Southern Star." No, we're not referring to Andress.
NBC: Sanford and Son, The Little People, Circle of Fear, Bobby Darin.
Circle of Fear was the midseason-changed title of a show called "Ghost Story," which was originally introduced by Sebastian Cabot. Once the title changed, Cabot returned to that NYC penthouse to care for Miss Buffy and Master Jody. Uncle Bill had since fled to Hawaii (The Little People). Bobby Darin btw, had Phyllis Diller on his guest list.
Late night: Johnny had Sid Caeser and the lovely legs of Juliet Prowse, while Jack Parr's guests on ABC included Ben Vereen and a pre-Barney Miller Steve Landesberg. CBS had for its Late Movie an Aussie-American tale of Beau Bridges in a "convict western" called Adam's Woman. Speaking of Aussies, a pre-disco "Bee Gees" livened up "Midnight Special" on NBC also featuring Jerry Lee Lewis and a real "pip" of a group, Gladys Knight and the Pips.
Thanx to Google News and the pages of the Toledo Blade with a little help from Wikipedia.
Really, has anyone seen Jan?
