AL 4/20/67: Three for the price of one

Sox veto Senators with 8th inning rally

Jerry Adair's 2-run single in the top of the 8th brought home the go-ahead runs off Senators' reliever Dave Baldwin, while Duane Josephson singled what turned out to be the difference-maker as the league-leading White Sox beat the Senators in DC by a 5-4 score. Adair's go-ahead single was his 4th hit of the game, the other 3 were doubles. Frank Howard's home run off Hoyt Wilhelm in the bottom of the 8th brought the Sens close, but Wilhelm shut them down the rest of the way to earn the save in relief of John Buzhardt.
