Post 200: Back to 1961 (with some "Super" tweaks)

Just realized it was post #200, so it's fitting that we bring back 1961 in "ADV" with a few "Super" adjustments in terms of stealing as in, no letter grading and with the "infinity" symbol that takes away clutch hits and adds them. Also, they will be "as played" and "as scheduled," though after this first batch of games, it will be a few days before I post AL games again. April was just a bit messy that year...

4/10-11 AL: *means clutch adjustments were made

CWS 6-9-1 WSH 1-4-4 WP-Wynn (1-0) LP-Donovan (0-1) HR-Minoso (1)

DET 5-9-2 CLE 4-9-1 WP-Bunning (1-0) LP-Perry (0-1) HR-Wood (1) Cash (1, go-ahead homer in 8th)

BAL 5-7-1 LAA 4-7-1 WP-Pappas (1-0) LP-Clevenger (0-1) HR-Kluszewski (1) Pearson (1) Gentile (1) Pappas (1) Whitey Herzog: Walk-off single in 9th with nobody out off of Clevenger.

MIN 4-9-0 NYY 2-5-2 WP-Ramos (1-0) LP-Ford (0-1) HR-Mantle (1)

BOS 6*-12-0 KCA 0-7-0 WP-Monbouquette (1-0) LP-Herbert (0-1) HR-Schilling (1) *-Yastrzemski RBI single with clutch symbol.

That's it for #200, #201 will be coming up with NL games from 4/11, plus a very odd game in Cincy...

1973: LCS Game 3's

ALCS: Merv Rettenmund got things started for the Orioles with a lead-off homer off the HR check, but Ken Holtzman would keep the Birdmen of Baltimore in check the rest of the game as the A's went to the longball and the smallball to take a 2-1 series lead. The A's tied it in the bottom of the 1st on Sal Bando's round trip. The small ball came via Bert Campaneris, who drew a 1-out walk in the bottom of the 5th and stole 2nd. Joe Rudi chased him home with a 2-bagger, giving the A's a lead they would not give up. Reggie Jackson, Gene Tenace and Deron Johnson saw to that in the bottom of the 8th, chasing Mike Cuellar from the game with back-to-back-to-back home runs. Jackson's homer came with Sal Bando on base. Final: Oakland 6, Baltimore 1. A's lead series 2-1 NLCS: The series-trailing Mets did what they had to do to force game 4, putting together a 12-hit attack to stun the Reds 7-3 at Shea. The Reds jumped off to a 2-0 lead after 2-1/2, putting the Mets on early ...
